Connectors are used to make a tight connection between two fluid carrying elements. Most of the fluid is carried under high pressure, and /or high temperature. The connection may also be exposed to high external pressure as a result of the deep waterdepth.
FMC Technologies provide a series of standard connectors from 2” to 36 “ both single- and multi-bore and provides: mechanical release capabilities, optional secondary hydraulic release capabilities, visual lock/unlock indicators.
Application-specific features such as high-angle release and soft-landing capabilities are provided where necessary.
Each connector is submitted to rigorous qualification testing before implementation in the field. All connectors are tested to actual field loads, and, in addition, most connectors are tested to structural failure. FMC's connectors are tested well beyond industry standards, making FMC an industry leader in connector testing.
