FMC Technologies MK IV SCM provides a more economical solution than direct hydraulic controls for operating low function subsea trees that are located 5 miles (8 kilometers) or more from the topside production facility. The MK IV SCM electro/hydraulic design is based on more than 1000 SCMs that FMC has delivered and installed to date.
The MK IV offers several advantages over conventional direct hydraulic control systems including umbilical tube reduction, instantaneous hydraulic venting of the actuators, increased instrumentation capabilities, and ROV retrievability.
The compact MK IV topside Master Control Station (MCS) utilizes proven communications-on-power to provide operator well control and shut-down capabilities, plus monitoring of well electronic sensors for data feedback as necessary. A Class I, Div I cabinet can be supplied along with optional remote monitoring capabilities if required.
