Hydraulic Power Unit (HPU)
FMC Technologies’ Hydraulic Power Unit (HPU) provides redundant low and high-pressure hydraulic supplies to the subsea system. The self-contained and totally enclosed HPU includes duty and backup electrically driven hydraulic pumps, dual redundant filters, accumulators, and control and instrumentation for each LP and HP hydraulic circuit. The unit operates autonomously under the control of its dedicated programmable logic controller (PLC), which provides pump motor control, interlocks and interface with the Master Control Station (MCS). The HPU provides a stable and clean supply of hydraulic fluid to remotely operated subsea valves. Fluid is supplied via the subsea controls umbilical to the subsea hydraulic system, and the SCMs to operate subsea valve actuators.

Subsea Power and Communication Unit (SPCU)
FMC Technologies’ Subsea Power and Communication Unit’s (SPCU) modular design improves the ability to upgrade the power and communications hardware and software, as technologies and system requirements change. This design adds greater reliability and flexibility as well as ease of service and maintenance.
Topside Umbilical Termination Assembly (TUTA)
The Topside Umbilical Termination Assembly (TUTA) provides the interface between the main umbilical and the topside control equipment. The unit is a free-standing enclosure that can be bolted or welded in a location adjacent to the umbilical hang-off in a hazardous, exposed environment onboard the topside facility. These units are typically designed to customer requirements with a view to hydraulic, pneumatic, power, signal, fiber optic, and material selection. The TUTA usually incorporates electrical junction boxes for the electrical power and communication cables, as well as tube work, gauges, and block and bleed valves for the appropriate hydraulic and chemical supplies.
