Installation and Workover Control System

IWOCS

FMC’s Installation and Workover Control System (IWOCS) is used to monitor and control the deployment and operation of subsea production equipment for both horizontal and vertical trees. The same system is also used for the retrieval and workover of this equipment. Our systems can be used in large multi-well field development systems as well as single well deployment and interventions.

IWOCS offers:

  • Monitoring and control of deployment and retrieval of tubing hangers, landing strings, and subsea trees
  • Facilities for downhole operations, well testing, and production testing
  • Standardized workover equipment that is flexible and adaptable based on field and customer requirements; and
  • Direct-Hydraulic and Electro Hydraulic systems

Direct Hydraulic systems operate the subsea and downhole hydraulic functions through dedicated hydraulic lines in the workover umbilical. It is comprised of a workover control container, local control panels on the rig, and a reel which enables the control umbilical to connect to the subsea equipment. This technology is well suited for shallow to medium water depths, and has been supplied by FMC as part of major projects around the world.

Electro Hydraulic systems operate the hydraulic functions through a Riser Control Module (RCM) inside the marine riser. Electro Hydraulic systems allow the use of smaller diameter control umbilicals to achieve very short response times. These systems can be used in water depths of up to 10,000 ft.   FMC can supply this equipment from its various locations around the world.
