Chevron’s first subsea development in Brazil and FMC Technologies' most complete scope for an overall subsea system ever in Brazil 

Chevron has teamed with FMC Technologies' unique Brazilian local content strengths, knowledge and experience to provide a complete subsea field development system for the Frade project. The Frade field is located in approximately 4,000 ft (1,330 m) of water, 230 miles (370 km) in the North Campos Basin offshore of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The Frade project utilize’s FMC Technologies globally managed product standards, systems engineering, quality assurance and control, supporting manufacturing, supply and project management processes. The FMC Technologies Macaé facility base will support installation and life of field activities. 

  • Nineteen enhanced horizontal 5,000 psi subsea trees
  • Twenty-two FMC UWD-15 wellhead systems
  • Twenty-eight Pipeline End Manifolds (PLEM) and sleds
  • Foundation structures
  • Twenty Subsea Control Modules
  • Forty-nine Steel Flying Leads and integral (VCM)
  • Seventy-one Electrical Flying Leads
  • Thirty Umbilical Termination Assembly (UTA)
  • Nineteen Parking Frames
  • Mechanical Jumper Connection (MJC) Systems along with FMC’s 2” TL gas-lift ROV connectors
  • Topside Control Systems including HPU, MCS, HDP and EDP, Tools and Service
  • IWOCS (Open Water and Tubing Hanger Mode)
  • Subsea Landing String (SSLS) with shearable joint and retainer valve
