Landmark: Reuse of qualified standard new generation technology
Gjøa is an oil and condensate (light oil) field located in blocks 35/9 and 36/7, 80 miles (130 km) northwest of Bergen, Norway, at a water depth of 1200 ft (360 m). Oil will be piped via a tie-in to the Troll II pipeline and further to the Statoil-operated Mongstad refinery near Bergen.
Statoil is development operator for Gjøa, while Gaz de France takes over as production operator when the field commences production.
Start-up of oil and gas production commenced in 2010.
