Shell Bonga North West Deepwater Subsea Systems

Location/Blocks:  Nigeria / OML 118

Landmark: The Shell Bonga North West project marks the first subsea tree assembly in Nigeria.

Shell’s deepwater subsidiary in Nigeria, Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company Ltd (SNEPCo), started oil production from the first well at the Bonga North West deepwater development off the Nigerian coast on August 5, 2014, marking another milestone for the country’s energy industry.

The Bonga North West project is located 10km from Bonga Main in water depths of about 1170 meters. Four oil-producing wells and two water-injection wells in the Bonga North West development will be connected to the FPSO, from where oil is loaded onto tankers and shipped around the world. FMC Technologies provides a full project scope to support SNEPCo's operations.
