Libya NC 41 

Landmark: Project cost was reduced due to reuse of existing tools

The Bouri is part of Block NC 41, which is located 70 miles (120 km) from the Libyan coastline in the Mediterranean Sea. The Bouri East Area development project will consist of four new production wells clustered around a central manifold and tied back to the DP4 platform. The wells are approximately located 2.6 miles (4.2 km) from the DP4 platform.

The subsea wells will be tied back to a subsea manifold or PLEM. This will convey the produced fluids to the DP4 Platform through two flowlines. The flowlines will be buried to prevent any possible damage. The flowlines will be provided with Subsea Isolation Valves (SSIV) located on the seabed at approximately 328 ft (100 m) from the DP4 Platform.

The subsea production system will be controlled using an electro-hydraulic control system.

The system was designed for diver-assist installation and diverless operation. The horizontal tree design used on the EAD project was made to reuse the Bouri design with a minimum of changes, minimizing the engineering and allowing this project to achieve a fast-track schedule of only 48 weeks from contract award to delivery for the first two subsea trees and manifold. The subsea trees and the PLEM have integral protective structures. The PLEM is designed to be installed on a special 40" housing which serves as the foundation pile.
