Oil and gas productions systems often face production limitations which are caused by the characteristics of the separation equipment. The operator may experience
- decreased capacity of the separators to handle the required production rates
- that the separation equipment do not perform as desired
- equipment failures due to sand
Possible reasons for these limitations can be
- that the separation equipment may see operating conditions outside its designed operating window
- that the operator have target to increase the production rates to a higher level than originally planned
- that the wells may provide different well-stream characteristics than originally expected
These operational challenges can often be solved by modifications and retrofit of the separation process. Equipment can be modified, new equipment can be installed and new operating procedures can be selected. We have a wide separation technology ideal for such retrofit applications:
- Our separator vessel internals can be designed to get maximum utilization of the separator volume. By installing these, the capacity can be increased and performance improved. This can be done without need to do any modifications to the large vessels themselves.
- Our InLine separation technology can be installed into an existing separation process adding new separation stages with a minimal need for change to the configurations of the processing system. The technology very compact; fits in pipe sections that are already at the field. The low weight makes them ideal to install in an existing facility.
- We can tailor make separation solution for challenging applications by using our special design and unique technology qualification capabilities. These solutions we define together with operators. To ensure that the solution is successful, the advanced modeling and testing work is performed in close cooperation with the end user.
