Veslefrikk InLine PhaseSplitter

StatoilHydro Flowsplitter

Gas and liquid from Statoil’s platform Veslefrikk A to the floating process platform Veslefrikk B were transported collectively via 150-metre (492 feet) flexible hoses with an 18” internal diameter. The high gas-to-liquid ratio was causing slug flow to develop in the hoses, creating a significant pressure drop.

The incorporation of an 18” InLine PhaseSplitter converted the flow stream into liquid-dominant and gas-dominated streams, which are now transported through separate hoses. Since the installation in 2005, it has been successfully reduced backpressure, allowing for extra production without the need to lay new, expensive hoses between the two platforms.

The installation of the InLine Phase Splitter resulted in increased production
