Heidrun InLine DeSander

Heidrun InLine DeSander
The Heidrun field, in the North Sea, is operated by Statoil. This first offshore installation of the technology was awarded to FMC Technologies in 2007 and has resulted in the elimination of major operational challenges on the platform.  The application includes a 6” InLine DeSander, for separation of sand from the sand jetting water from the first stage separator. Statoil has completed extensive offshore testing of the unit, and reports that the performance from offshore operation met expectations and the separation performance has been in accordance with the performance prediction model developed through the qualification program. The InLine DeSander is installed in between the first stage separator and the sand treatment system that is used to clean the oily sand.
