The Roto-Shell™ dryer is an efficient, high volume drying system. As the Roto-Shell™ rotates, lifters raise the product and cascade into the hot airstream. The hot air stream runs along the center of the drum. The air is heated using natural gas, propane, oil, or steam coils. Where high temperature is acceptable, direct fired burners are used.
FMC Technologies custom designs Roto-Shells™ to meet specific processing requirements. Drums can be fabricated of mild steel, alloy steel, or nickel alloys to suit the corrosive or abrasive characteristics of your product.
Applications for the Roto-Shell are any bulk free flowing material that can tolerate rougher handling. Examples of applications are:
Food: Cereal Pellets, Sugar, Snack Food Pellets
Chemicals: Ammonium Sulfate, Sodium Sulfate
Minerals: Foundry Sand
