Gates are normally used on the bottoms or sides of bins, tanks or hoppers, either singly or in a series, to control flow of materials onto conveyors for further processing; directly to machines for bagging, weighing, etc., or into trucks or railroad cars for shipment to other points.
These gates are dust-tight and totally enclosed, with welded steel construction throughout. They are frequently used in large industrial plants, power generating stations or wherever dusty materials are being handled. These gates, while primarily intended for free flowing or dusty materials, can also be used for sand, gravel, crushed rock, stone, fine ore and other similar materials.
