The Roto-Shell™ dryer is an efficient, high-volume drying system. As the Roto-Shell rotates, lifters raise the product and cascade it into the hot airstream. The hot airstream runs along the center of the drum. The air is heated using natural gas, propane, oil, or steam coils. Where high temperature is acceptable, direct fired burners are used.
FMC Technologies custom designs Roto-Shells to meet specific processing requirements. Drums can be fabricated of mild steel, alloy steel, or nickel alloys to suit the corrosive or abrasive characteristics of your product.
Applications for the Roto-Shell are any bulk free flowing material that can tolerate rougher handling. Examples of applications are:
