The Roto-Shell™ is an economical, high-volume dryer or cooler. It can be used to process a wide variety of products for the food, chemical and mineral industries.
As the Roto-Shell rotates, lifters raise the product and cascade it into the airstream. The airstream runs along the center of the drum. When operating as a dryer, the air is heated using natural gas, propane, oil, or steam coils. Where high temperature is acceptable, direct fired burners are used.
FMC Technologies custom-designs Roto-Shells to meet specific processing requirements. Drums can be fabricated of mild steel, alloy steel, or nickel alloys to suit the corrosive or abrasive characteristics of your product.
Applications for the Roto-Shell are any bulk, free-flowing material that can tolerate rougher handling. Examples of applications are:
