Chiksan® bottom - API RP 1004 - loading arms facilitate the bottom (un)loading of trucks and railcars. The design meets all bottom loading requirements including API envelope dimensions and is suitable for use with automated metering systems.
Chiksan bottom loading arms have been developed to meet your requirements for API RP 1004 as for the loading of petroleum products. Their design, where the operator can remain at ground level while manoeuvring the arm, creates a safer working environment with quicker and easier connections and loading operations.
Chiksan bottom loading arms are equipped with Chiksan TL swivel joints combining a spring torsion with world proven Chiksan swivels for easy handling, compactness, reliable seals, and improved cost efficiency. Additional equipment such as dry-break couplers, valves and extension handles are available from stock for most standard models and sizes.
Loading stations for petroleum products can be equipped with up to six arms, making it possible to load six products simultaneously. This type of installation also features a vapor return arm (or dogleg) in order to prevent vapor emission into the environment while avoiding overpressure in the tanker. Variable riser heights provide clearance of adjacent arms, permitting each arm to be connected independently anywhere within the API RP 1004 envelope even if other arms are already connected.
FMC provides an extensive range of short and long reach bottom loading arms to meet your specific working envelope requirements. Long reach arms feature a primary and secondary arm covering an extended working area and facilitating arm crossovers.
Chiksan bottom loading arms comply with Annex IV of Directive n° 94/63 (20 December 1994) referring to the control of volatile organic compound as dictated by European Union directive 94/63/EC and API RP Standard.
