| High water based fluids (HWBF) are sometimes used in place of traditional hydraulic fluids for cylinders, rams, and control valves in longwall hydraulic systems. HWBF are non-flammable and do not have environmental impacts if spilled or leaked. Traditional hydraulic pumps have trouble pumping water like fluids, so FMC pumps are used to provide this environmentally friendly alternative to traditional hydraulic systems. |
