Since 1884, FMC Technologies has been creating economic value by developing a diverse line of custom piston pumps designed around the needs and criteria of our agricultural customers.
The Bean piston pump product line can be customized to handle the most abrasive and corrosive insecticides and pesticides. FMC Technologies' engineers' expertise in materials and chemical analysis enables FMC Technologies to manufacture and construct pumps that are ideally suited for the agricultural spraying applications of today. By understanding the "what and why" of the application's specifics, FMC Technologies is able to provide solutions to the professional sprayer. FMC Technologies' total business solution maximizes economic value and increases revenue by lowering the pump's operating cost within the agricultural market.
Applications Crop Spraying Herbicides Pesticides Fertilizers FMC pumps are used to pump pesticide and fertilize mixtures through nozzles (<500 psi). This creates a mist or fog that is the optimal way to apply the chemicals to the leaves of plants in orchards, row crops, and even golf courses. Often, piston pumps are powered by the PTO shaft of tractors. |
 |
In the "No Till" chemical injection process, fertilizer or pesticides are injected directly into the soil at pressures up to 3,000 psi. Thin slits are created by blades, and nozzles direct the spray from the pump directly into the ground. This process is environmentally friendly by minimizing soil erosion and using smaller amounts of chemical.
Pest Control Small, truck mounted pump skids are used by many pest control companies to deliver the chemicals in and around homes and commercial structures. Special lances are used to inject chemicals several feet underground for termite treatments. These applications are typically low flow and low pressure. |
