Tropical Storm Don

This information is intended for all FMC Technologies employees working in the Houston and surrounding areas.

The Houston Emergency Management Team is currently monitoring Tropical Storm Don. National Hurricane Center projections indicate that the storm will remain a tropical storm as it moves northwest from the Yucatan Peninsula and is expected to make landfall around the south Texas border near Corpus Christi early Saturday morning.

At this time, there is no immediate threat to any of the Houston-area FMC Technologies operations and we do not anticipate any facility closures in the Houston area but a heightened state of readiness is in effect. We have begun to implement the early steps of our Hurricane Preparedness Plan to ensure that the Houston area facilities are prepared in the event that the storm’s path changes.
It is possible that parts of the Texas Gulf Coast, including the greater Houston area, will receive moderate winds and significant rainfall during the later parts of the week and throughout the weekend. Therefore, we encourage employees and their families to be cautious and exercise good judgment.

Remember to avoid downed trees or power lines, driving through standing water and listen to local radio stations for the most current updates on weather conditions. Additional safety tips can be found below.
