Opportunities While Still in School

Your college career is important. You work hard each semester to learn and excel in your area of study.  To enhance your learning while still in school FMC offers students an opportunity to get real world experience.  Whether that is working for us as a part time student in Houston or College Station, joining our summer internship program or working a semester with us as a co-op, you will gain valuable hands-on real world experience to take back and apply to your classroom learning and jump start your career after graduation.

While working for FMC you will work on projects under the supervision of experienced personnel to supply the oil industry with products to develop and maintain subsea and surface production fields.  Those projects are with some of the world’s leading energy producers such as BP, Shell, Statoil, ExxonMobil, Chevron, Total, and many others developing the latest technology in our industry.  While you may be working in our Houston, Texas facility, our subsea projects are not limited to the Gulf of Mexico.  You may be working on a project to be installed off the coast of Africa, or any number of other international locations.

Students should be proficient in use of CAD and Database systems related to engineering functions.  They should have completed by first or second term a materials class and a mechanics/stress analysis class.  FMC uses Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and MathCAD.
