FMC’s performance in the Ekofisk growth area, from its origin in 1974 until present-day 2006, represents our ability to meet and exceed our customers’ expectations. Ekofisk, containing two major fields (Ekofisk and Eldfisk) in the North Sea, operates ten of its platforms using FMC’s surface wellheads. From the first platforms to the most recent, FMC has worked with ConocoPhillips to engineer the most safe, efficient, and technologically advanced systems utilized for offshore surface platforms.

Technology at FMC goes hand-in-hand with the operator. The recent development of two Side by Side wellheads, that for the first time have been desinged for 13-5/8” 10,000 psi (on the Eldfisk 2/7-B platform), will allow COPNo to recover two existing slots while doubling their production. This endeavor would not have been possible without the innovation and experiences that developed between FMC and ConocoPhillips; the positive team that evolved over the past 30 years.
