U.S., Gulf of Mexico, Alamos Canyon Area Blocks 815, 857 & 859 Landmark: The Shell Perdido is the first full field subsea separation and pumping system in the Gulf of Mexico.
This is FMC Technolgies second full field development with Shell utilizing subsea oil and gas separation and boosting, following the award of the Shell BC-10 project offshore Brazil. The Perdido project has a SPAR-based processing hub moored in an estimated 7,874 feet (2,400 meters) of water, making it the deepest production SPARE in the world. The project also holds the current world record water depth completion of 9,627 feet (2,934 meters) achieved at the Tobago field, part of the Perdido development located approximately 200 miles from Houston in the Gulf of Mexico. The new depth record surpasses the previous milestone of 9,356 feet (2,852 meters) that was established in 2008 at Shell's Silvertip field, which is also a part of the Perdido development.
