Comments
As operator on the field, StatoilHydro has drilled 113 production wells into the Troll field. Data from these wells has shown that the recovery rate from the norhtwestern field can be increased by drilling new production wells. The five wells on Troll O2 development is expected to increase the area’s recoverable oil reserves in excess of 20 million barrels. An optional well slot on the template is being included to accommodate the drilling of a production well into the Brent formation, where oil was proven in 2005.
FMC will deliver one template structure with 5 wells, expandable to 6. The well stream will be delivered to the Troll C production platform through the existing Troll O1 subsea template. Future developments can be tied back to the Troll O2 template by replacing the 10” pigging loop.
Deliveries are scheduled for 2nd and 3rd quarter 2009.
