Comments

The Gunnison Field is located in the deepwater Gulf of Mexico at 950 m (3,100 ft). The Gunnison Field includes Garden Banks Blocks 667, 668 and 669. The project was developed using a truss spar similar to the spars used in development of the Nansen and Boomvang Fields. The spar is designed for a production of 40,000 bopd and 200 mmcf/d of natural gas. Initial production from the development was achieved in fourth-quarter 2003. The initial development includes ten (10) wells connected to the spar: seven (7) dry trees and three (3) subsea wells for Gunnison and Durango.

The Gunnison development provides, Kerr-McGee with its fourth deepwater hub in the Gulf of Mexico and allows maximizing the value of the developments and surrounding assets. Following its strategy of focusing on core areas in high-potential trends, Kerr-McGee has accumulated an inventory of forty (40) blocks in the immediate Gunnison area, and holds interests in more than 300,000 acres in the western and southwestern Garden Banks area.
