Comments

The development consists of an initial two (2) wells followed by an additional well which was completed at a later date. The system is designed to produce 100 mmcf/d of natural gas, which is exported by a 14" pipeline to a terminal on Varanus Island, 63 km (39 miles) away from the subsea development.

The requirement for a very long umbilical was eliminated by the innovative solution of controlling the subsea wells via a communications buoy on the field, which also provides chemical injection. Further innovations used on this project included two (2) subsea multi-phase flow meters, a subsea corrosion monitoring system and two (2) subsea heat exchangers to cool the produced fluid. Production from the field began in November 1996, one month earlier than planned.
