Comments:

The Chinguetti Field is located in Deep Water Block 4 of PSC B, located 80 km (50 miles) west of the Mauritania coastline some 90 km ( miles) from the capital Nouakchott.

Phase 1 of the field was developed with subsea wells, manifolds, flexible flowlines, umbilicals and risers tied back to the permanently moored turret style FPSO with 1,65 mbbl storage in 695 m (2,280 ft) water depth. Initial production of 75,000 bpd is anticipated from six (6) wells. Offloading is by way of ‘trading’ tankers tandem moored. The phase I subsea trees were of the OXT design, which was a novel concept of concentric completion which allows the tubing string to be run at the same time as the subsea tree, thus saving trip times.

Phase II of the Chinguetti field development includes subsea hardware supplied under a frame agreement with Woodside Energy Ltd and FMC Technologies Australia. The subsea trees are of the EVXT design as supplied on the Vincent project, but modified to interface with the HOST® manifolds supplied in Chinguetti Phase I.

First oil was produced from the field in February 2006 with an FPSO.

Woodside Mauritania was sold to Petronas in December 2007, a Malaysian oil company based in Kuala Lumpur.
