Engineering, Procurement, Construction (EPC) Subsea System Deliveries
FMC Technologies has executed more EPC Subsea System Projects on a global basis than any other similar supplier, if we take into account the number of contracts and their value.
These projects were achieved sometimes entirely within one country or across various countries, using resources from all the FMC Technologies Subsea Systems operating areas and other FMC businesses.
An EPC Contract is characterized by Functional Requirements, with clearly defined responsibilities for all the systems part of a subsea production system: System Engineering, Template/Manifolds, Control System, Christmas Trees, Umbilicals, Infield Lines and Tie-in System.
Subsea System EPC Contracts
A Subsea System EPC Contract is a combination of individual product contracts, providing standard products and known interfaces.
The delivery of a total Subsea System by one experienced supplier makes it possible for the client to better manage and to reduce interface risks, it enables him to have greater control over the total budget and includes less contingencies in his project "AFE" (Approval For Expenditure). Furthermore, an EPC contract for a subsea production system will achieve shorter schedules and will give less opportunity for "VO" ("Variation Order") growth.
The interface risk is efficiently managed by the EPC contractor, who is best entitled to do it as he has control over the technology and products.
