Over the last 6 years the Straight Bore Teflon Seal (SBTS®) has undergone the most exhaustive testing of any seal ever designed for ball bearing swivel joints. The results of these tests are conclusive: the SBTS can successfully handle a very large range of temperatures and pressures that far exceeds the capabilities of elastomer and standard PTFE seals, while offering bubble-tight sealability and lower torque.
Especially designed for extreme and corrosive services, the Straight Bore Teflon Seal is the first and only swivel joint seal compatible with all known industry fluids from low to high temperatures. As the heart of the swivel joint, the innovative and patented SBTS packing optimizes the product compatibility and sealing that is impervious to chemical attack.
The exceptional sealability and reliability of the SBTS originates from its unique design: unlike elastomer seals, the SBTS is both mechanically and pressure-energized to provide bubble-tight service from full vacuum to 50 bar, and offers a radial tightness.
The SBTS has a smaller outside diameter than a conventional swivel joint packing which substantially lowers hydrostatic end loads. As a result, the SBTS delivers the lowest rotational torque under pressure of any comparable seal.
