The PTFE-lined swivel joint is the result of many years of research and investment by FMC Loading Systems. It ensures the versatility and sealability of the Chiksan® loading arm. The proven PTFE lining completely prevents any contact between the metal and the product, thus making it the ideal solution for all transfer operations of acids or very aggressive chemicals incompatible with stainless steel.
The PTFE-lined swivel joint performs the role of the heart of a loading arm. It allows relative rotational movements, while ensuring internal and external watertightness and guarantees optimal chemical resistance.
Among the many advantages of this superior joint are exclusive snap-in ball races that provide extra-strength and high load-bearing capacity. These work hardened ball races are easily replaceable on site with no need to dismantle or cut out the whole joint, thus lengthening the swivel joint service life.
Other features that make the FMC PTFE-lined swivel joint the perfect solution for the transfer of acids and very aggressive chemicals include the 3-piece design, which allows primary seal replacement without completely dismantling the swivel joint, and the exclusive four PTFE packing faces that prevent all contact between the product and the metal.
