The Chiksan® Series 2000 low-temperature steel swivel joint is the latest result of FMC's research and technical innovation and benefits from more than 40 years of experience. As the heart of any loading arm, the Chiksan® Series 2000 low carbon steel swivel joint provides reliable sealing and rotation for the transfer of petroleum products, lube oil, liquefied gas, low temperature products, ammonia and steel compatible chemicals.
The Chiksan® swivel joint Series 2000 dependably handles almost all products and service conditions while eliminating the need for routine inspection and maintenance for a period of five years.
FMC has made a significant breakthrough in swivel joint performance standards with its patented Straight Bore Teflon Seal® (SBTS). Through its unique design, the SBTS provides the Series 2000 low carbon steel swivel joint with exceptional reliability and sealability. It is both mechanically and pressure energized to provide a bubble-tight seal and is the only loading arm seal compatible with almost all known industry fluids. The SBTS considerably lengthens the life of the seal and enables it to withstand extremes of temperature, steam, acids, slurries and other corrosives. It also delivers the lowest rotational torque under pressure of any comparable device.
The Chiksan® Series 2000 low carbon steel swivel joint also features the patented field replaceable snap in ball races. These provide extra-strength and a superior load-bearing capacity while also ensuring a longer service life.
The Series 2000 low carbon steel swivel joint is a 3-piece swivel, enabling the packing to be replaced without completely dismantling the swivel and allowing the two rotating parts to be easily separated.
These features combine to give the Series 2000 low carbon steel swivel joint superior seal integrity and long life, together with minimal on-site, low-cost maintenance.
