Customer Information - Working with You to Improve the Environment
By contributing to the Greenshoots Fund, our business will improve the environment for the communities in which we operate and compensate for carbon emissions associated with the production of our core product range, subsea trees.
Involvement in the Greenshoots Fund is voluntary, but by participating in this ground-breaking project you can contribute to a global challenge to reduce carbon - a goal for all sustainable and responsible businesses.
Customer Involvement − What it Means for You
For every subsea tree you purchase, a small fee will be incorporated into our tender proposal. You can choose to opt in or out of the scheme for each tender. The fee is based on a calculation of average carbon emissions involved in the production of a subsea tree using a combination of manufacturing and raw materials data.*
FMC Technologies Involvement − What it Means for Us
We do not expect you to fund the project on your own. We will pay a levy on all staff air travel using a calculation based on the number of kilometres travelled and the carbon emitted.
Who will Benefit from the Fund?
Greenshoots is available to non-profit organisations which need funding for projects that deliver carbon reductions and local economic benefits. Examples of potential projects include local community energy schemes or local housing upgrades to create more energy efficient buildings.
Preference will be given to projects in the areas where we are based − Fife, Aberdeen and Glasgow. However, consideration will be given to other projects across Scotland if they have a strong business case.
How will You be Updated on Your Contribution?
A quarterly review will be posted on the Greenshoots Fund website and an annual report will be made available to you and other stakeholders.
How will the Fund be Managed?
Funding decisions will be made by the Greenshoots Fund's independent steering group. The steering group includes representatives from our customers and FMC Technologies, along with experts in the fields of sustainability and finance. They will all be involved in reviewing applications to the fund, selecting the best projects to be funded and overseeing the performance of projects.
*The price of carbon has been calculated based on the EU Emissions Trading Scheme but, over time, we propose to use prices based on the cost of carbon in the projects we are funding.
