Engineering Trainee Program

It is important for FMC Technologies to have employees who, besides having technical skills, also have cross-functional knowledge about our products, business processes and interfaces within the organization. People who are able to see the “big picture” in a complex organization like FMC Technologies are valuable assets. This, however, demands many years of experience. We are trying to speed up the development process by offering Engineering Trainees one year of job rotation and training between our Product Departments.

Rotation between our Product Departments
Our Trainees are working in product department. To ensure learning and proper experience, our Trainees will have responsibility for work tasks by participating in strategic projects and daily business. The tasks will be based on departmental needs and Trainee needs and ambitions.

Important Networking
The rotation and on-the-job training give the Trainees the opportunity to learn from more experienced professionals and build an important network in the different departments throughout the organization. This is very helpful for giving our Trainees a kick start on their career at FMC Technologies.

The Key Roles for our Program
To ensure a professional follow up of our Trainees, we have a Trainee Program Coordinator. This person takes care of the necessary communication and adjustments of the Program. In the Departments, we also have Training Coordinator. These are helping our Trainees to get proper training and follow up. All of our Trainees also have a personal Mentor. The Mentor will find suitable work tasks and support the Trainee with regards to technical challenges. To ensure the development of our Trainees, they present their learning outcome and experience when rotating to the next Department. In addition, this will aid us in constantly improving the program and make sure that we reach our goals.

Vacant “Engineering Trainee” positions will be available from the middle of October 2011.
