Research & Development

Research and Development is an integral part of the CDS approach by exploring new separation techniques. To ensure our designs are as robust and efficient in practice as they are on paper, we conduct rigorous tests under operating conditions, in-house as well as on-site.

Our extensive in-house test facilities include:

A three phase small scale test loop mainly used for testing under atmospheric conditions. However it can be utilized for higher pressure operation up to a gas density of 50 kg/m³ (3.12 lb/ft³). The total liquid capacity is a maximum of 100 m³/hr (15,096 bbl/d) with a maximum of 50 m³/hr (7,548 bbl/d) per phase. Depending upon the flow the maximum liquid supply pressure is up to 13 bar (189 psi).

A three phase large scale test loop capable of simulating gas flows of 3200 am³/hr (Equivalent to 158.4 MMSCFD with an SG of 0.7) up to a gas density of 50 kg/m³ (3.12 lb/ft³). The total liquid capacity is a maximum of 800 m³/hr (120,768 bbl/d) with a maximum of 400 m³/hr (60,384 bbl/d) per phase. Depending upon the flow the maximum liquid supply pressure is up to 5 bar (73 psi).
